Who we work with
Partners we work with or plan to work with include booking and travel platforms such as Trip.com, Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia and Hotels.com, Klook, GetYourGuide, Viator and DiscoverCars. Not every partner is active at all times, and the list may change. Where an individual page contains affiliate links, we say so near the top of that page.
Editorial independence
Commissions never decide what we recommend. We choose hotels first and look for a booking link second. If a stay is the right pick but no partner offers it, we still recommend it, with a link to the hotel’s own site or no link at all. We do not accept payment for placements, rankings or positive reviews, and no partner sees or approves our content before it is published.
How we pick hotels
Every recommendation is judged on the same criteria, whether or not there is a commission involved:
- Location: access to the sights, stations and neighbourhoods that matter for the trip.
- Recent reviews and rating trends: what guests have said lately, across more than one platform.
- Price band, checked on a date: we describe budget levels and note when we checked, because prices change daily.
- Accessibility: lifts, step-free access, room sizes and family options where published.
- Cancellation terms: whether flexible rates are commonly available.
When we have stayed somewhere ourselves, we say so. When a pick is based on research, we say that too.
Compare before you book
Different platforms sometimes show different prices, room types or cancellation rules for the same hotel. We encourage you to compare options and to read the final terms carefully before paying. Your booking is a contract between you and the platform or property, not with Donquijotel.
Advertising
We may also display ads in the future, for example through Google AdSense. Ads are clearly separate from our editorial content, and advertisers have no influence over what we write.
