Where to Stay in Da Nang for Couples (2026): Romantic Beach Areas Compared

Deciding where to stay in Da Nang for couples is mostly about choosing the right stretch of coast. Da Nang, on Vietnam’s central coast, has one of Southeast Asia’s longest city beaches, a forested peninsula with secluded coves, and a quieter coastline running south towards the old town of Hoi An. Each area gives a romantic trip a different feel: hideaway, beach-and-city, or resort calm with lantern-lit evenings nearby. This guide compares them, explains what to look for in a room, and suggests how to plan a few unhurried days for two.

Why is Da Nang good for a couples’ trip?

Da Nang combines a long, swimmable beach with an international airport minutes from the centre, so you can be on the sand within an hour of landing. Resorts and beach hotels here generally cost less than comparable stays in many better-known beach destinations, which means a room with a sea view or a private pool is within reach for more budgets. Beyond the beach, there are sunrise views over the bay, seafood dinners on the sand, rooftop bars above the Han River, and Hoi An’s lantern-lit Ancient Town less than an hour away.

Which part of Da Nang is most romantic?

The Son Tra Peninsula rises north-east of the city, covered in forest and edged with small bays. The few resorts here feel far from everything, with hillside rooms and quiet beaches. It’s ideal for couples who want to spend most of their time at the resort. The trade-off is distance: the city’s restaurants are 20–30 minutes away by car, and you’ll rely on taxis or shuttles. The peninsula’s winding roads, the Linh Ung Pagoda and its viewpoints make a beautiful drive.

My Khe and An Thuong are the heart of Da Nang’s beach life. The beach road is lined with hotels, seafood restaurants and cafés, and the streets behind An Thuong are full of small bars and bakeries. It’s the best area if you want to walk to dinner and still swim every morning. Expect high-rise views rather than seclusion, and busier sand in summer.

Non Nuoc and the southern beaches, near the Marble Mountains, are home to large, low-rise resorts with long gardens, big pools and wide, quieter beaches. You’re about halfway between the city and Hoi An, so both are easy evening trips by car. Outside the resorts, the evenings are quiet.

Hoi An isn’t on Da Nang’s beach, but many couples split their stay. Two nights near the Ancient Town give you lantern-lit walks, riverside dinners and boat rides, while the beaches of An Bang and Ha My are a short ride away. See Hoi An or Da Nang for how to divide your time.

Who should stay where?

  • Honeymooners who want privacy: the Son Tra Peninsula, with a night or two in Hoi An.
  • Couples who love food and going out: My Khe and An Thuong.
  • Couples who want a pool-and-beach rest: Non Nuoc’s resorts.
  • Short trips of three nights: one base on My Khe, with an evening in Hoi An.
  • Longer trips: split between Hoi An and the beach.

What should couples look for in a room?

Room names matter. “Ocean view” usually means the room faces the sea, while “partial ocean view” may be a side view, and “city view” faces inland. In Da Nang, many beach hotels sit across the beach road from the sand rather than directly on it, which is normal; if direct access matters to you, look specifically for beachfront resorts. Pool villas are more common and more affordable here than in many beach destinations, especially in spring. When booking, mention a honeymoon or anniversary; some properties add a small welcome touch if they can. Check what’s included, such as breakfast, airport transfers or shuttles to Hoi An, because packages can add real value.

A relaxed four-night plan for two

  1. Day 1: arrive, swim, sunset drinks by the sea.
  2. Day 2: drive around the Son Tra Peninsula and Linh Ung Pagoda; seafood dinner on My Khe.
  3. Day 3: Hoi An’s Ancient Town by day; a lantern boat on the river at dusk.
  4. Day 4: slow morning, the Marble Mountains, a rooftop bar above the Han River.
  5. Day 5: late breakfast and a short ride to the airport.

Where should couples eat and spend the evenings?

Da Nang’s evenings are relaxed and easy to plan. The beach road and the streets behind it have seafood restaurants where you choose fish and shellfish from tanks, and An Thuong’s cafés, bakeries and small bars stay lively until late. Along the Han River, rooftop bars look over the lit-up bridges; on weekend evenings, the Dragon Bridge’s fire-and-water show draws crowds. For something quieter, many resorts on the peninsula and the southern beaches have restaurants and bars with sea views, and a short drive takes you to Hoi An’s riverside for dinner and a lantern boat ride.

If you’re staying on the Son Tra Peninsula or at a southern resort, plan transport for evenings out in advance: Grab cars are easy to book from the city, but late at night it can take longer to find one for the trip back.

When is the best time to go?

For a beach-focused trip, the most reliable weather is usually from about February to August, with calmer seas in spring and early summer. June to August is hot and busy with domestic holidaymakers, so book early. From about September to December, heavy rain and storms are common, the sea can be rough, and some beach days will be lost; if you travel then, choose a base with good indoor options and book flexibly.

Notes for travellers with reduced mobility

Heat is the other thing to plan around: from May to August, midday temperatures are high, so save sightseeing for mornings and evenings and keep the afternoons for the pool. Large resorts on the southern beaches are generally the easiest for wheelchair users, with level paths and lifts, but hillside properties on the Son Tra Peninsula can involve steep slopes and steps. In the city, the beachfront promenade is wide and smooth. Ask properties directly about step-free access to rooms, pools and the beach before you book.
